Expressive arts therapy

A little space.
A little colour.
A little more you.

A different way to begin

When words are hard,
there are other ways.

You don’t need the right words.
You don’t need to make beautiful things.

Sometimes a colour, a line, or a small act of making can be a place to start. Here, creativity and conversation sit side by side, with space for whatever you bring.

Meet the person beside you

Hello, I’m Alja.
I’m glad you’re here.

An expressive arts therapist, an illustrator, and a believer in small beginnings.

My path has taken me from studying illustration in Slovenia to a master’s in Expressive Arts Therapy at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. Along the way, I’ve worked with children, school-aged young people, and adults.

I bring that meeting of creativity, cultures, and human connection to Little Bulbs, with room for your own way of seeing the world.

A little more about me
The little bulbs philosophy

Growth doesn’t always look like a leap.
Sometimes, it looks like showing up.

A clear, gentle beginning

A small step.
Then we take it together.

Start with a conversation
  1. Tell us what you’re looking for.

Explore the sessions or begin with a question. A brief introduction is enough; you don’t need to share your whole story.

  2. Get to know the person beside you.

Discuss your hopes with Alja, ask about the approach, and understand the fees, format, and boundaries before deciding.

  3. Decide what feels right for you.

If the fit feels right, agree on a first session. There is no expectation to commit to a course of therapy just to ask a question.

A little clarity

It’s okay
to have questions.

Starting something new can feel like a lot.
Let’s make it a little more familiar.

More things you might wonder
Do I need to be good at art?

No art experience is needed. You might begin with a few marks, a colour, a shape, or a conversation. The focus is on your experience of making and what it means to you, rather than the finished artwork.

What if I don’t know what to say?

You don’t need to prepare a story or know exactly what you’re feeling. We can start with a conversation, a material, or a small creative invitation. There is room for quiet, too.

What happens in a first session?

We begin with what brings you here, what you hope for, and any questions you have. Together, we discuss whether this approach fits your needs and agree how to work, including privacy and its limits. There may be a gentle creative invitation, with time to reflect and decide on a next step.

How much does a session cost?

Session fees, length, and first-conversation details are listed on the booking and session pages. Details still awaiting confirmation are marked. Please confirm the full fee, currency, and cancellation terms before agreeing to an appointment.

Small beginnings count

You don’t have to have
it all figured out.

Just a little curiosity. We can start there, together.
